The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Humanitarian Logistics Support

HCSO provides an overall role of humanitarian coordination to facilitate the local & international NGOs, UN agencies, donors and key ministries of the government ensuring the humanitarian and coordination response in Liberia; especially as regard to the residual humanitarian needs including response to refugee crises and logistical facilitation to humanitarian actors. Advocate on resource mobilization and management of humanitarian information including strategy review/development and disaster preparedness & early warning support to Liberia.
