Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

Coffee Break is UNMIL Radio’s flagship news and current affairs program that highlights issues of concerns to UNMIL, government of Liberia, Civil Society and Grassroots communities. Issues such as peace and reconciliation, elections, women’s issues, current events, governance, rule of law, electricity and road construction among others are captured in the program which is aired Mondays-Fridays.
Coffee Break today featured live interviews with the following persons and issues:

  • Tacarra Bimingham – Lead Facilitator from Chicago USA as the Africa Bread Fruit Initiative hosts workshop to discuss prospects and challenges for breadfruit;
  • Momo Cyrus – Chief Executive Officer / Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia proposes a private public partnership in the security sector.
  • Sam Saryon – Head / Crimes Stopper Network extends its activities to South Eastern Liberia;
  • James Kwabo - Manager /Alternative Youth FM , Zorzor Lofa speak about how Lightening affected the operations of the station
  • Henry Flomo - Director of Communications / National Elections Commission to begin voter roll exhibition
