The 49th edition of INTERFACE, the quarterly newsletter of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA), provides everything you need to know about UNOCA's activities during the last three months from January to March 2018. In addition to the good offices of the Special Representative in several Central African countries, the newsletter reflects various missions undertaken by staff members during the reporting period.

MHighlights of the newsletter include: combating rebel and terrorist groups (Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) and Boko Haram), promoting gender equality and human rights, supporting peace initiatives, cooperation with sub-regional and regional organizations, capacity-building of national and regional actors in various sectors of socio-political life, etc.

In addition, the staff news offers information, among others, on the role of the Office in training young students and on certain internal team-building events.

he Newsletter opens with a tribute to Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, whose mission ended on 31 March 2018 after six years of service. This tribute is followed by a portrait of Rosemary DiCarlo, the new Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs appointed on March 28, 2018.
