7 - 8 September: The Head of UNOCA will represent the UN SG at the Great Lakes Summit in Kampala

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the UN Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA), Mr. Abou Moussa, left Libreville (Gabon) on 5 September to Kampala (Uganda). He will represent the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, at the Mini-Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGL), from 7 to 8 September.


The Mini-Summit will continue discussions on measures to be taken to end the instability in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Meeting is the follow up of the extraordinary Summit held in Kampala from 7 to 8 August on the same issue.
